LaunchAPEX, a program that will support and develop entrepreneurs and small businesses in Apex, will commence in the fall of 2018. Spearheading the effort are the Apex Rotary and the Apex Sunrise Rotary. Other partner agencies and organizations include Wake Technical Community College, Apex Chamber of Commerce and Apex Economic Development.
LaunchAPEX is being modeled after successful efforts both nationwide and locally. Since 2013, Rotarians across the country have been refining a program to help kickstart their local economies in the areas that need it most. From Detroit to Raleigh, and all across the country, Rotarians are bringing community leaders and institutions together to change lives through entrepreneurship. From barbeque sauce to cookies, from welders to marketing consultants, local entrepreneurs are getting the training, mentorship and support they need to build and grow their businesses.
Community leaders and Apex business owners began vetting the program in May and immediately took action to ensure a successful fall 2018 class. Applications for the inaugural class of LaunchAPEX will be accepted from June 1st through July 31st.
This program in Apex is geared toward entrepreneurs and small business owners located within Apex, with an acceptance preference given to those that have an annual income of $75,000 or less. Specific services include providing business development training and services, access to micro-loans, mentoring, and networking opportunities.
